I don't know what it is about areas with large groups of people but isolated pockets of space that makes my muse kick into overdrive but it certainly helped in this break through with the larva design. The simplcity of it just clicked and I figured out how I want his body to look. Basically this is the most popular head from the last set with mandible antlers. A big toothy grin just fits and shows a hint of that character he's always had. He has no leg pods or anything like that. He gets around either by scrunching or simply flinging himself around like a spaz in the general direction he wants to go. Figured out what kind of markings work with this too and you'll see a bit of a tail stinger there on the end. The begining of an abdomen pretty much but its a sort of mace here. Ultimately he now has the face of NOM with the beady eyes and such. The mandibles also have the teeth facing inward like Gregole suggested. Very close to making a full drawing and bio for this one.-RenDragonClaw

I'd say this is a pretty solid design. The huge bulk and titanic maw fit together well with the unstoppable eating machine motif, and the mandibles definitely invoke horns, and thus his adult form. The tiny little eyes and snaggled teeth go well together, and the markings add a little something to keep it from becoming bland. I especially like the tail mace, as it gives him that one final touch.
All in all, it has some of that Battra feel, without really looking like Battra.

I'd say it has the flubbiness of the Mothra larva, some of the attitude and combat ability of the Battra larva, the magnitude of a Spice Worm and tenacity of a Graboid. It's also simple enough to work with a lot.

Now this is a good compromise of all the features looked over and talked about in your concept bits. Beel' came out a lot better then I thought he would and I really like the legless look to him as well as the combo of spear jaws and giant toothy mouth.

If something managed to keep his mouth open, he can always hack at it with his mandibles. It's a four directional noming machine for sure.

He does eat pollution, garbage, on the occasion a dead kaiju.
