Appearance:
▸There are 3 different varieties found around the island, with different colors and patterns correlating to each area. (sta.sh/020alx5u11rg )
▸Only the forest variety has 3 distinct colors depending on the time of year. The other varieties have 2.
▸Their patterns vary slightly, but the marking on their forehead always indicates what type of namchu it is.
▸Although very difficult to tell apart in winter, you can also always identify them by their feet.
Other:
▸Usually hanging out in trees, they chirp to signal potential danger. Those unfamiliar with the sound could easily mistake them for birds.
▸Despite their size they are very territorial and will do their best to scare you off if you're invading their space.
▸You're much more likely to see one around the Mountain Road since there are less trees for them to travel by.
Pet/Companion:
▸They feel the most comfortable up high, so they'll often sit on your head or shoulders.
▸With a good nose, they can serve as very useful companions when seeking out nuts, berries, or herbs.
