Description Now I'm really spamming.

Some are referenced from random dvds I picked from my shelf ( my favourite Documentaries, and a bit of Leon the Professional ), some are made up, and some are results of me glancing at regular tv programs.
All attempts at getting faster at slapping down compositions without fiddling around with transform-tools and the like (That's why I switched to pencil & marker after the digital ones at the bottom)
Now I only need to do about 800 more of those and look into some actual theory on this stuff, and I'll have either learned a ton of things by then, or died of a solvent poisoning.

Maybe 2 minutes each, the digital ones took about five or something. Darn brush-juggling!

Ah, I was thinking as I scrolled down that looks like Natalie Portman's character in Leon! And it is
Ooh and I'm not sure how much this would help but have you ever heard of the rule of thirds? It's a general but simple rule for composition, it should just come up if you google it no book or anything.

Did you get angry at that 8th frame? Did it say something about your momma? I'll bet it said something about your momma.

Leon, The Professional is so good! I love the part where they're playing charades and where Leon takes Matilda on a hit [i was disappointed when i didn't see that part in the dvd though].

As far as the collection goes... wow!! It's all a lot of quick work on each piece, but they're clear and and I can tell what's going on. The values also seem to give a good indication of the mood and atmosphere of each piece. I'm really impressed! I wish I could do quick compositions like this.

I really, really admire that you're doing this in an effort to improve. Don't settle for less than what you're satisfied with.

Wow, I really like the first one (dramatic perspective always catches my eye). You seem to favor a lot of ominous scenes, but the tension in the compositions comes across very well.

These are really cool! A great idea and good practice. A book we used in my storytelling classes (for comics, not movies but they overlap a lot) for this kind of thing was the Five C's of Cinematography. I think it might be right up your alley since you're interested in this!

Oh! Thanks, I'll have a look at that! I really need some theory on this, but every book that seemed useful was awfully expensive :' <

Since it's used as a textbook, you could probably find a used one. Looks like half.com has it for about $15 or so and Amazon for about $20. I think Barnes and Noble carries it sometimes too in the film section, so you might be able to at least look at it! C: Good luck!
