When they started dating Kris was absolutely sure that Val has no interest in him. And as for Val, he avoided any physically-close relationships because he was afraid of his rangenetic nature being discovered. (And considering Kris's reaction his fear was justified. )
So, basically, Kris had no reason to tell Aldi that he has some unrequited love interest. Besides, Kris never pretened to be in love with Aldi, so he didn't lie or anything. It was Aldi who fell in love with Kris and... well, that's whenΒ things became complicated.
