"So, Zach wants to see a bit of a progress update... does he," Madi said to Whimsy as she finished folding the silken strands of the mare's tail into an intricate braid. "Oh, we're gonna give him an update for sure," she finished with a bit of flair. She wrapped the ends of the braid through the soft band, making sure not to pull out any spare hairs. Whimsy's tail had matured beautifully, developing into the classic breed standard for long and full tails. And the length made it just perfect to simulate into the form of a mythological unicorn.

Then Madi stepped into the tack room, changing quickly to add the finishing touches of her own costume. After all, what could be better than having your training session double as a cosplay opportunity?!? She adjusted her jewelry until it was just right, then stepped back into the isle and removed the crossties connected to Whimsy's halter. The halter was just one of their working halters, but Madi had decided to customize it "a bit." She secured a hollow, lightweight, pearlescent unicorn horn to a specialty browband she had added on. "Magical," she whispered out loud.

Originally, it took Whimsy a while to get accustomed to the unusual weight and object on her head. But Madi had worked with her repeatedly, until Whimsy no longer questioned her handler's antics... at least as long as Madi's pockets were lined with cut up carrot pieces for a reward.

Madi attached a lead rope to her mare's halter, and started to head out of the barn, towards the training area. Nadya was just heading back into the barn with Nighthawk, having finished their cool down and burst out laughing with an "Oh. Muh. Gawds." when she saw them. Nighthawk turned his head, trying to figure out just what he was looking at as Madi and Whimsy walked past.

"Good luck," Madi heard Emily's voice as they stepped outside. She knew Emily had been in the next isle over, grooming her beloved grey mare, Moonflower. Emily promised she'd be out shortly to snap some fun pics of the two of them. Luckily, both Em and Nadya knew Madi well enough to not even be surprised by her playfulness, and Madi figured the girls' conversation had already moved on to another topic as they reviewed their plans for the day.

She led her splashy chestnut mare to the training arena, stepping through and closing the gate behind them. She took of the lead rope, and let Whimsy trot around through the thick sand. One pass around the arena, and Whimsy was ready for work. She walked over to Madi and waited for her first cue. Groundwork training had been going really well for both of them, and Madi looked forward to the time she got to spend teaching Whimsy new tricks and skills.

But in this moment, Madi was really looking forward to seeing Zach's reaction - when he walked over expecting to see a simple training update... and not creatures that had escaped from a supernatural world. A smile broke across her face at the thought, and Madi already knew his reaction - a disapproving shake of his head as he would try to hide a smile at her shenanigans. Maybe with any luck, Brittany would accompany him today... she was a guaranteed laugh...
