Description This is sculpted in water based clay then kiln fired before painting with acrylics.
I made a mould of the original sculpt and have cast up a few resin copies.
It's about 14" high and about 12" wide accross the shoulders

They were but that was a few years ago now. I think the mould has probably deteriorated by now unfortunately.

Thanks a lot, I have worked a lot with water based clay over many years and have always managed to get good results.....as long as it's a good quality smooth textured clay I think you should be able to produce good work with just as much detail as with the oil based clays.

yea, i always had problems with water based cause of the cracking and drying lol, I've just recently been getting into sculpture and really want to try Super Sculpey, seems like a nice medium between water based (being able to harden it) and oil based (not air drying)The oil based stuff just doesnt seem to be working for me the way i want it too lol

Definitely have a go with some sculpey, I prefer the firm version for holding fine details a bit better but have used the regular super sculpey as well and found it to be very easy to work with!

I don't have any casts left in stock right now but I'm hoping to produce a few more in the new year. Would you like me to keep you updated and give you a quote for the price of a cast with shipping included?

thanx, do you want me to send you my shipping info?

revenant-99 In reply to xenomorphic97 [2010-12-13 14:44:22 +0000 UTC]

If you can give me your email address and shipping details I can work out the shipping costs and get bsck to you with a full quote for one of these delivered. As I said before I don't have any ready at the moment but at least you would know the cost and could let me know if you would still be interested in getting one when they are available again.

Cheers
Terry

Thanks Terry! Any plans on sculpting one thats 1:1 scale? You have some wicked talent there...

revenant-99 In reply to PredatrHuntr [2009-10-07 21:55:09 +0000 UTC]

No plans at the moment, it would be quite an expensive project for me to undertake when all the costs of making the mould and casts for a 1:1 sculpt are added up!

I could only afford to do something that big if I had some definite orders up front....still it's something I would like to have a go at one day, maybe when my finances are in better shape!!!

Wow, this is incredible! Very nice work! How long did it take you to make, and what tools did you use to sculpt it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

revenant-99 In reply to sugarpoultry [2009-10-04 08:48:39 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot!

This took me about 60 hours to sculpt but that was spread out over a couple of months as I have to fit sculpting into whatever spare time I have.
I used a variety of wire loop tools, rakes, and dental picks on this sculpt.

Glad you like it!!
