Technically, he didn’t have hair in the first place, as that was just a headpiece. If you want a crocodile-headed ancient Egyptian creature that did have some hair, check out Ammit.

Anytime.
Probably, though you’d have to consider the fact that these mythologies were and are a part of someone’s belief system. Some are ancient and the people who worshipped them are long dead, but some groups of people have made efforts to revive the old religions, though in ways that still appropriate from old sources.

I know, I’m just saying be careful. Yeah, it kind of is, and part of what makes them that way is the context of when and where they were written.
One example of bad appropriation I’ve heard of is with the Navajo figure called the Skin-Walker. A lot of people think it’s the Native American version of a werewolf or a shapeshifter, but it’s neither. I admit that I don’t know everything about the Skin-Walker, but from what I do know, it’s a very harmful witch and the Navajo don’t like talking about it.

Indeed it is. The story of Arachne is pretty damning of Athena, but that’s because the guy who wrote the story, Ovid, was holding a grudge against authority due to his own mistreatment. As such, his stories painted the gods as abusive tyrants and the mortals they punish as unappreciated geniuses.
Right, sorry.

Mhmm, but it’s still him putting his own biased perspective on it. The valid ones are when Zeus and Hera mess up some poor woman’s life.
From what I’ve heard in the dogman encounters, I’ve noticed some recurring elements:
- The dogmen bear a strong resemblance to werewolves seen in Van Helsing and Bad Moon (except with tails)
- The dogmen stink (mixture of wet dog and piss among other things)
- The creatures are intelligent enough to know what doors are and how they work
- The full moon’s got nothing to do with anything
- The creatures have some degree of human-like expression, such as grinning and frowning
- While territorial, the Dogmen always seem to let the people they encounter go unharmed, if a little shaken
- There’s speculation that they’re a unique species of canids, and don’t transform into people
- When a dogman howls, it sounds like a mixture of a wolf howl and a human screaming
A lot of mine involve checking out some clips from different things, listening to rock music, and lately I’ve discovered and been binge-watching the channel Bedtime Stories. They tell stories of the paranormal and give speculation about it, kind of like Buzzfeed Unsolved, only without jokes and with moving black-&-white illustrations. They’re who got me hooked on the Dogman recently, and I hear there are more dogmen sightings than Bigfoot.

-Ovid.
That’s at least good.
These dog men sound very interesting and strange.
Your options sound good, I also watch vines and tiktoks on there. Ah, seems like I might like it when it’s not seven pm I might check them out. So Dogmen are less endangered than Bigfoot.

Pretty much.
Very, and pardon me, but I forgot to mention another commonality - they’re always described as being very tall when standing on 2 legs, like easily 7 or 8 feet. Plus, shooting them only pisses them off. I’m still trying to imagine how a dogman smiles.
I’ve heard of tiktoks, but I don’t know about it. Enjoy! Yeah, though one encounter mentioned a dogman getting into a turf fight with a male and female Sasquatch before running off because he was outnumbered and outmuscled by them.

Wow. I’d be pissed off too if I was minding my own business and someone decided to shoot at me randomly. What kind of smile, smug, happy, your gonna die?
It’s kind of like vine in that you can make short videos and share it with people on the app, but with a few added filters like a bonk filter where a hammer is placed over a photoshopped head with a funny noise. There are some cringey videos you probably wouldn’t like. You can look up some complications on YouTube if you want an example.
I will, one thing would you describe the videos as being particularly scary? That sounds kind of funny. Like it was probably scary for the dude watching it

RexBlazer1 In reply to MysticTopaz04 [2020-04-06 03:11:53 +0000 UTC]
Mighty big, huh? Probably, but since that’s all shooting them does, it’s often warned not to do that when meeting a dogman. IDK, the people just said that the dogmen smiled and it made them feel even more scared.
Sounds wacky. Thanks for the warning. I might.
At the very least, they’re spooky, and the illustrations are nothing to laugh at. It is if you look at it that way, though one advantage the Dogman had was that he was taller than his opponents, but muscle and numbers make a bigger difference. It was, and the guy said he was a retired park ranger (I think) who saw all this before he called it quits. He did encounter the Dogman before, as he’d interrupted the thing’s meal once, and in return, the Dogman left a severed dear head at the guy’s truck and had pissed on the tire, effectively telling him to stay out of its territory.

Yes. I’d just walk away slowly and hope it doesn’t see me. So sinister looking but probably more so caused by uncertainty.
They’re usually mixed bags but it all kind of depends on your sense of humour.
Thanks for the warning, I’ll give one a try and see how I feel about it. True, still I think it’s cool that those two species have encountered one another. Well that’s..... something. I don’t know how I’d react to that in person other than scream, quit and then move to a city without any nearby forest areas.

Good idea, and I’ve heard it’s not good to run from large predators. Pretty much. Another thing is that, when a dogman is near, there’s an uneasiness in the air and everything is unnervingly quiet.
Well, humor is subjective.
Let me know what you think. That it is, and from what the guy said, the Sasquatches were less aggressive than the Dogman. Funnily enough, that’s what most people with dogman encounters said they did, or at least when they could and chose not to go back to those areas.

True.
I will. So they were holding back or just didn’t feel like dealing with him today. If someone threatened me with a dead animal on my porch I would do the same, and then I’d call the cops (if it was definitely a person that did it)

Not until someone sets a trap for one and shows it to some scientists, which you probably shouldn’t do. No not really. Oh and fun story one time when I was younger my family went camping and we saw two bears not far from our campsite, one of them was a baby. We didn’t approach them but it was a cool experience.
I feel like both would be a bad way to start your weekend. I feel like the dog man would be more threatening, especially if he’s done this. The park ranger is probably just their neighbour who never interacts with them personally.
There’s a severed animal head on my porch. I’d throw up and then take a shower. Better than just renewing scent marks every week.

Yeah, it's dangerous to mess with dogmen, as they appear to be both very strong and intelligent. That is cool, I'm glad you were all okay.
Very much so, and he ended his tale with him wondering if he should tell the next guy who takes over his job since he's now retired. Yep! Yeah, he was smart enough to keep his distance from them.
True, it's just I remember a line from Tremors 3 where a guy said this to the Feds, "You guys do what you do best! Find something simple and complicate it!" I wouldn't blame you. And you know how dogs and wolves usually mark their territory.

I can't say I have, but I did use to camp a bit with my folks and my grandparents back when I was little. I went kayaking one time and fell out, and I thought I felt some fish brush up against my leg, creeping me out a bit since I was pretty jumpy back then.
