Description I was out east of Flagstaff at sunset, looking for caves. It was raining between me and the mountains, which provided a thick, hazy canvas for the sunset to work with.

From the left, the long flat object is Mount Elden , next the tallest and more jagged San Francisco Peaks , and from there on you see several of the cinder cones that make up the San Francisco volcanic field of northern Arizona.

Yeah, kindof. Off towards the right would be closer to where James Turrell is doing his thing. Hidden behind some of those cinder hills.

Yeah, I just did another search prior to answering your question and found a couple more articles on the project. It's been somewhat of a mystery for awhile. Although honestly I'll be more curious when it's done. They've been working on that for a loooooong time.

Oh very pretty! I love the colours and the texture of the sky. As always, amazing view and shot.

The subtle mountains in the background also adds to the composition.

I always envy your very scenic vistas haha. We don't have much of that where I live

Thanks man. Yeah, I don't know if I'd be a photographer if I didn't grow up in this countryside.

Yeah, found a couple entrances one can supposedly rap down into, but they look a bit dicey. Unfortunately all of my crazy climbing/spelunking friends have either gotten married and/or moved away.

Beatiful landscape but ..."gotten married and/or moved away"? Means to get married that you can't do climbing anymore?

Pretty much.

There's one or two on the way up here from down there I haven't been into yet too, and I don't really have a whole lot of crazy climbing/caving friends. Kinda hard to make caving friends when you live in a sandstone wilderness. Maybe this year'll be the year I get down into the one I'm really interested in...

I'd love to explore them with ya, but my problem is one of experience. I know just enough about ropes and knots and webbing to get by during easy to moderate exploring. Anything that involves un-natural anchors or long rappels I avoid when relying on my own knowledge. I usually wait until one of my more experienced friends can break away and help me out, which probably isn't going to happen anymore. That being said, any time you want to go exploring, look me up with a note. Even the less technical routes are still fun.
