Do you have a base or any suggestions on how I make a ref sheet for a thylacine fursona?

I'm curious about Olivia.Β She was only in a few pages in the very beginning of A&H Club.Β Do you plan on bringing her back occasionally?Β I realize that by the current page, Adrian and Hildegard seem to be in a relationship, but I quickly grew to like Olivia.Β I don't know why, though.

I thought the same too. When were Adrian and Hilde confirmed to be partners tho? I never caught where. I thought Adrian was only looking to stay with Hilde for 14 days (until she found her own apartment) and Rick said Hilde was Ali's auntie. O.o

I'm not sure Rick every made it "official", although there are several drawings of Adrian and Hilde in an embrace, not platonic mind you, and I do know of one drawing where Adrian is actually kissing Hilde while they're on a park bench.

....Oh. Never heard of the parking bench one. Well, Adrian WAS listed as Bisexual after all...maybe the comic is centered around how the two become a couple.

Could be.Β I know that in the first one or two pages, Adrian had just had her rent increased and was unable to pay it.Β That's how she came to live, temporarily, with Hilde.Β (It was in these first few pages that we meet Olivia.)Β By the end of Part One of A&H Club.Β We see Adrian watching a movie with Hilde and falling asleep on her shoulder with Hilde's arm around her.Β Even though Rich hasn't mentioned a past, I'm thinking that, since Adrian is bi, she and Hilde have a bit of a past between them.
Oh, I've looked for the park bench kiss drawing and, so far, I haven't found it.Β As soon as I can find it, I'll post a link here for you to see.

Erzibunny009 In reply to MviluUatusun [2016-06-20 08:52:30 +0000 UTC]
I think they've got quite the past too. Hilde said she hasn't seen Adrian for 2 years prior to the time Adrian visited her and vented about her rent. Hm...
Heh, I looked for it too and like you, couldn't find it. However, are you talking about Rick's artwork titled: Hooked Up? That has a couple sitting on a park bench, but...its not Hilde and Adrian. It was two new characters Rick made with no names Cx

No.Β I know which one you're talking about and I believe those two are a male kangaroo and an unspecified canid.Β The two that I found that imply a relationship between Adrian and Hilde can be found at these two links.Β www.furaffinity.net/view/15583208 and www.furaffinity.net/view/12064653.Β The second one is the kiss I mentioned.

Ah...those two ARE no doubt suggestive O.o Makes me wonder if this confirms they're canonly together in the comics. Rick said the kissing drawing was just one of his vent sketches, and the bed one he said in the description A&H was not supposed to be a will-they-wont-they romance, but how their relationship evolves over time. Has me thinking :/

MviluUatusun In reply to Erzibunny009 [2016-06-20 21:43:07 +0000 UTC]
That's right.Β Thanks for reminding me.Β Perhaps those two drawings were done to give him an idea of what kind of relationship he wanted to portray or whether or not he wanted to consider putting them into a full blown affair.Β Hmm.Β Who knows!Β (Rick does, that's who.Β LOL.)

Ah.Β I had a feeling that they would, just from the way he's drawn situations with them, the last strip or two of A&H Club, Part 1, for example.Β It would seem to me that Hilde has a thing for marsupials since early in Part 1, Olivia is visiting AND in Hilde's bedroom.Β LOL.Β I still would like to see more of Olivia and we likely will if Adrian continues living in Hilde's apartment since most apartment complexes have a rule about how long a visitor can stay.Β We'll just have to wait and see.

Wow!Β How many people would think to create an anthro Thylacine?Β If you're doing marsupials, especially lesser known ones, how about the marsupial lion aka thylacoleo or the thylacosmilus?Β I'd love to see what they might possibly look like as anthros.

the pouch would work if only the opening was upside down. Perhaps there's a ledge inside.
π: 0 β©: 1
MviluUatusun In reply to SheTheTDE [2016-01-18 21:30:37 +0000 UTC]
Well, there's also the fact that her ancestors were quadripeds which would allow for the pouch to open toward the pelvis.Β Likely, by evolving into a biped, there was an accompanying evolution in how the pouch would work.Β Perhaps something similar to your ledge, a pouch within the pouch, maybe.

Good description.Β It would keep the infant warm and safe at the same time.Β Who knows what kinds of adaptations have occurred through evolution?Β Parts that were needed in one position in a quadruped alter their locations and shapes in a biped.

Objectivism and Atheism are two completely different schools of though (philosophy and religion).
Just figured I might mention that.
You familiar with Ayn Rand's thoughts on it all?
π: 0 β©: 1
Smeapancol In reply to Red-Savage [2014-04-20 07:02:25 +0000 UTC]
I've read all of Ayn Rand's novels. Ayn Rand was an atheist and considered it as essential part of her philosophy.
Philosophy and religion are not schools of thought; they are subjects. Schools of thought refers to the ideas of a group with a common methodology or academic agenda. Furthermore, religion is included in philosophy, so that means philosophy can have plenty to say on it. Also, atheism is not a religion, it's a lack of belief in god. Atheism can be a tenant or conclusion of a philosophy, and that is what it is in objectivism.

Objectivism is very anti-religion. Is there some school of objectivism I don't know about that thinks religion is ok?
π: 0 β©: 1
RickGriffin In reply to Smeapancol [2014-04-19 21:05:57 +0000 UTC]
Basically half of the arguments I've seen for objectivism are various reasons why it is not incompatible with religion. It's not the purist perspective but it is the one that tends to have more political sway so they don't alienate other right-wing perspectives.
π: 0 β©: 1
Smeapancol In reply to RickGriffin [2014-04-19 21:14:56 +0000 UTC]
I think you have a biased sample, because you also just called objectivists right-wing. They're libertarian, not right-wing. If you've only met objectivists who are trying to get in bed with republicans, then that would explain why they would be soft on religion. Normally objectivists are strongly anti-religion.

Chrinik In reply to Smeapancol [2014-07-08 02:42:05 +0000 UTC]
Okay, you think about it too hard...
Are Objectivists BORN that way? No they arenΒ΄t. If she is a religion hopper, how can you be so sure she didnΒ΄t try all of these religions BEFORE settleing for Objectivism...I mean, one of the last ones is Agnosticism, basically the "meh, who cares?" answer, itΒ΄s only a small step to atheism anyway. And with no listed religion, other then the habbit of having tried alot, I could see it as a past experience before settleing down with what is stated.

It's usually possible to come up with some circumstance to reconcile apparently contradictory information. For example, people sometimes go around saying that the Bible is 100% true even given that the different gospels give very different accounts of major events in Jesus's life. It's possible to invent stories that resolve the contradiction. Or for another example, people have come up with circumstances to explain the reason that Han Solo could have been said to have done the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs, which on the face of it appears to be merely an error on the part of the writers.Β starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kesselβ¦
My point is that there is something here that requires an explanation and is probably an example of bad research on the part of the author, not that it is an absolutely irreconcilable contradiction.Β

The thylacine's pouch was 'upside-down' because it was on their crotch and not exactly on their belly, and they were quadrupeds.
So if they were to be turned into biped, their pouch would probably evolvo too be more like from a Kangaroo's to be able to carry their babies, in her case she probably have some defect or something lawl but nice character design, it stays true to most of the Thylacine's traits

Firstly, it's EXTREMELY RUDE to promote your journals/raffles/etc. under other peoples' artwork. This page is for commenting about THEIR work, not hijacking it to promote yourself.
Secondly, he's a professional artist. What use would he have for your measly $1.25 that can only be spent on this site?

Thylacines did indeed have a rear-opening pouch.Β It is also true that marsupial ladies' pouches have a sphincter muscle to prevent accidents with their joeys.Β The pouch is where they keep their mammary glands, so neither the 'roo or thylacine should have anything resembling human-style breasts, but I'm guessing "Artist's Privileges" have been declared in this matter.

D-Rock92 [2014-03-29 17:34:14 +0000 UTC]
I've heard that marsupials have a muscle for their pouches to essentially close them. Maybe it'll work if that's implemented? So will there be other extinct species as characters?
