If there is one thing that seriously drives me crazy is all the comments I have seen of so many mindless people calling Sesshomaru a 'Pedo"
that this is my reaction to them: 
. I just can't believe that so many people are that dense and mindless. I acknowledge that I don't own Inuyasha or the screenshots. They belong to Rumiko Takahasi

He's not child grooming Rin, nor is it wife grooming. He's not her 'Dotting Daddy' or her 'big brother'. She's the only human her ever loved . At the series end he is 'courting' her. Not dating, not lusting, not looking for an one night stand with an child (gross, that would be pedophilia ). He keeps visiting her and bringing her gifts to express how important she is to him. Even through they don't live together anymore he hasn't forgotten her. Its going to be a very long courtship period but its necessary. Let Rin enjoy the rest of her childhood in the safety of the village ( She's had it pretty rough life there for while). Sesshoumaru, even through his character changed so much it series I think that he still needs some more time to emotionally mature. Inuyasha waited 3 years for Kagome, why can't Sesshoumaru wait for Rin? They share an special bond that can't be broken, which I hope will only mature and grow stronger as they grow older.

In many ways, Rin and Sesshomaru have actually shown to have a even more mature bond and relationship with each other then InuYasha, Kagome and Miroku and Sango did with one another. Those two pairings could not go almost one episode without some type of fight or very un-necessary groping with one another. Of course Rin and Sesshomaru didn't do any of that to each other but Sesshomaru's confession to Rin in the last Drama CD only strengthens it more as he tells Rin to always trust him and as long as they had that bond of trust there was nothing to worry about. InuYasha and Kagome don't have that and neither does Miroku and Sango either.
What Rin and Sesshomaru have is really the most purest form of love in the Feudal Era of Japan and it also is a symbol of HOPE as well.

Thanks but I don't see him as being a "Daddy" to Rin because in the manga and the anime he has never done anything to show a "fatherly" attachment to her. You don't see him giving her advice, playing with her and he sends her off to find food on her own with Jaken accompanying her. They have more of a "Guardian/Ward" relationship.
I am a HUGE supporter of (older) Rin and Sesshomaru pairing as it shows at the end of the anime and manga he is courting her and in the last drama CD he does propose to her. Even though it was made by the people who made the anime Rumiko Takahashi herself improved it.

Both of them get unfair raps as pedophiles when neither of them are ever shown to actually do anything "wrong" with their charges. Admittingly, Char has a tendency of using teen girls as child soldiers, so it's fair game to call him out for that.

People have forgotten they're friends as if right now. Rin just needs to wait until the age of consent or maybe she's 18! Plus they forgotten about biological ages, Sesshomaru is biologically and physically 19 years old!

Actually, these day, minimum legal marriage age in Japan for females is 16, assuming parental approval (note that they are planning on standardizing it to 18 now). Hell, in Colonial America, 14 wasn't an uncommon age for courtship, if I read right. I image 16th Century Japan wasn't all that different--I could be wrong, though.

If that is how you feel about their relationship that is okay with you I am FOREVER going to be a supporter of a romantic relationship between them once Rin is much older. Their bond goes beyond that of a father and daughter relationship very much so.

I don't see this as a sibling kind of love or fatherly love. Sesshomaru is not the type to be a pervert or a pedo and the shippers, well, most of us who are sane, don't see it that way. These are dog youkais, and like any dog instinct they want to be like a guardian or a protector. And what the kind of love I see is that of a protector. That kind of love doesn't have to be sex or that kind of physical contact. What they share is a bond that has a great possibility of growing into something more. I know that Sesshomaru knows that Rin will grow up to become a young woman and her feelings will mature and she will later on understand. I find their relationship beautiful, warm and above all trusting.

Well you entitled to your own opinion on that where I will always stand on my own firm belief of them one day becoming lovers/mates when Rin is older. Also, Rin and Sesshomaru's bond goes way beyond that of what you would share between family members blood-related or not. Even if the drama CD that came out a few years back is considered non-canon it had to be approved first by Rumiko Takahashi herself and everything in that CD does indicate that they might (or even will) become lovers once Rin is at the appropriate age. A old friend of mine who lived in Japan for nearly 15 years has pointed out that Rin and Sesshomaru's relationship is very similar to a old Japanese tale that was written before 1021, yeah it's that old and if you compare both stories together they are similar in some fashion. I will respect your opinion if you will respect mine

Thanks Melody, but still even though Rin is still young and when she was travelling with Sesshomaru, I wouldn't call their relationship "father/daughter" or "brother/sister" one as it's more of a Guardian/Ward relationship and that is what Rin was referred to being in the series (at least by Kagura anyway). You never see Sesshomaru playing with Rin in the ways that a father or a brother would and Rin never calls Sesshomaru "Papa-Sesshomaru" also he would have her go off to find food on her own with Jaken to escort her, a "father-figure" wouldn't do something like that especially during times of the Feudal Era of Japan either.
Plus, the whole Guardian/Ward thing works out better as that is mainly what Dogs are for, guarding so it makes more sense for him to be her guardian rather than a father but also I don't think Rin could ever see Sesshomaru as a father-figure as she knew what it was like to have a father at one point.
I could really go into a lot more details as to just how close-minded people are as how things were completely different as to oppose to now. But I don't want to bore you

Sesshomaru is one cool character. Certainly not a "pedo", he's an aristocrat after all. Something I've been confused about though... In the InuYasha Profiles book, Sesshomaru is 19 and InuYasha is 15. That would mean he's only a a little bit older than InuYasha. Why in the 3rd movie he's illustrated as a young teenager, when he should have been a child? Is this a glitch in the story writing or am I missing something?

no offense but i don't see them (Sessh and Rin) in a romantic sense mostly because i tend to be an avid OC/Canon shipper, though i moreso see them as a guardian/ward relationship, slight-father/daughter relationship. but that's just me.
