What really hit is the striking resemblence between the figure that is fading away and the girl with their eyes - makes me think how death seems to follow us from an early age.

I recently lost my mother, and buried her ashes this weekend.... this touches my heart. I don't find it creepy at all.

My mum might be ash, but she's still my mum - this is what your painting ilustrates (to me anyway).
