Description The paper in the sketchbook is all weird and yellowish...

Mikotowane, the zanpakutou for a made-up on Hueco Mundo . The name very roughly translates into "beautiful harp sound/harmony." The release command is "Ten ni utai nasai," which very roughly translates to "Sing to Heaven."

The shinigami wielding it is Numajiri Maiha, 3rd seat of 10th squad. Because I could.

It's a sound-based zanpakutou, if that's possible (I'm sure it is). The handguard is meant to look like the top or bottom view of a whale, with the pointed head and long, flowing pectoral fins. The hilt wrap is light blue and white, the tassel (which I spelled wrong in the picture x.x) gold and used as a whistle if Maiha needs to sound an alert.

The shikai is...big. The blades face opposite directions, and the thing is meant to be wielded in the same manner as a staff...hence the dark guards that will keep the edges from cutting Maiha in half. The middle of each large blade has a section missing, replaced with tightly-strung metal strings. When the strings are strummed they will start to vibrate, after which Maiha will whirl the zanpakutou around in slow, dance-like movements, creating a sort of "song" that will hypnotize any who hear it (she is immune, naturally). This hynosis stays in effect as long as the song is playing and will hold for a few seconds after the sounds stop (and they must stop is Maiha wishes to actually attack). If she's fast enough, she can get in a hit before her enemy snaps to.

When strummed and spun fast, in somewhat erratic movements, the zanpakutou will emit very loud, high-pitched sounds. These can range from incredibly annoying to damaging, capable of causing permanent hearing loss if she's really serious (and really fast). The aftereffects to this are similar to any loud sound- ringing in the ears, temporary loss of hearing or dulling of hearing. Prolonged exposure can rupture eardrums. The time the effects last after this "song" vary depending on the enemy, but are generally much longer than the first.

Deaf enemies wouldn't be affected much, but the sound waves created by the high-pitched assault would cause intense vibrations that, in turn, would cause extreme dizziness.

Simple enough, but very formidable if used right. Seeing as it is a sound-based zanpakutou, I saw it fit for the spirit to be a humpback, the elite singer of the whales. Mikotowane is male and, as you can see, somewhat elaborate.

As an added bonus, Mikotowane's shikai can create minor wind disturbances and wind funnels. This is not due to an ability but merely because of it's broad shape; the wind created cannot be controlled in any way.

Eh. I messed up on the tassel. x.x Why is there a pointy corner?

Edit - I know the watermark kind of ruins the effect, but I forgot to sign this one and thus it's vulnerable to being stolen. x.x

Sorry, i can see the character releasing it, then singing a single-note tune into it, setting off a melodic ringging. Very well drawn. the yellow is a helpfull affect, in my opinion.
