Full view for best results.I took this picture at Great Cats of Indiana , a large cat rescue facility. The refuge also houses bears, wolves, and a silver-haired fox.
The staff workers thought they had all male wolves, until, low and behold, one of them ended up pregnant. And, sure enough, 'he' gave birth to five of the cutest little balls of fur-covered fat I've ever seen.
Right now, three of them are hungry.

I think it's a little easy to tell a male from a female on dogs these days. I mean i have two female goldens and i could tell the male pups of their litter from their female siblings, even if i had to pick them up.
Don't they give the animals that go there a medical check up or something?
I love that looks she's giving the camera it totally screams "Take a step twords my pups and loose a limb!!!!"

They do, but not themselves. They allow the vet to do it, but they have to make the vet appointment and wait for him to get there, and by the time he did she was already pregnant.

The pups are probably a few months old, if not younger; they were wobbly on their feet.
I don't know what the she-wolf's name was, if she had one. The sanctuary planned on keeping her long term; she's now in a sanctuary down south.

Unfortunately the ones we've got in the Vienna Zoo are all siblings and that makes it impossible to have babys. Maybe we could get one of these.

Feel free to contact Great Cats about it- they might already have the pups booked to go somewhere, but they might not. They don't have the money or the space to keep getting accidental births, and they'd be more than happy to donate a wolf or two if they can.

I don't know if the management of the zoo wants to have another wolves.
And I guess it's pretty complicated to transfer an animal from the US to Austria.

These furballs are just too cute. It's just a problem because I live in a big city and in my opinion you shouldn't have a dog (or any other kind of animal) if it can't run around freely.
