Description
In 1955, the Harder family of Pasadena, California needed a car that could carry their five children, dog, luggage, sporting equipment, picnic baskets, etc. around and beyond the Los Angeles suburbs. They bought a Ford Country Squire station wagon, which some of their children later used when learning how to drive. In 1989, the Harders donated their old car to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
