Description Many railroad museums have a steam locomotive that has been sectioned to show its components.  In the case of the National Railway Museum (York), this is British Railways 4-6-2 № 35029 Ellerman Lines (BR Eastleigh Works, 1949), a post-nationalization example of a "Merchant Navy Pacific" designed by Oliver Bulleid for the Southern Railway.  She was retired in 1966 with just over 748,000 miles run in service and sent to the Woodham Brothers scrapyard in Barry (Wales) but was relocated to the former British Steel workshops in Sewstern (Leicestershire) in 1974 for restoration and sectioning ahead of the opening of the NRM in 1975.  Fortunately, she is not the only representative of the Merchant Navy in preservation, as some of her sisters are either in steam or under restoration around the UK.
