Description Kerr McGee Oil Industries diesel locomotive No. 845 sits in the railyard at the Orange Empire Railway Museum (now Southern California Railway Museum) in Perris, California.  It was originally delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad (SP) as No. 1550, a 1200-horsepower S-12 switcher built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1953 near the end of its long history of locomotive production, along with other engines allocated to an SP subsidiary, the Texas and New Orleans Railroad (TNO).  Under SP ownership, No. 1550 worked around Los Angeles, but under the Oklahoma City-based Kerr McGee it moved east, so as a retired locomotive it has moved back to its original territory.
