Description Monongahela Valley Traction Company, the West Virginia subsidiary of the West Penn Railways rather than any part of the Monongahela Railway, used to run long freight trains behind 4-axle steeplecab locomotives like № 3000 (Baldwin-Westinghouse 53783, 1920).  After this interurban closed in 1947, MVT 3000 was sold to the Monongahela Power Company and used as the Rivesville power plant switcher until 1968.  Since then, the locomotive has been displayed at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Washington (near Pittsburgh), representing a time when electric railfreight was common here in the USA.  A similar preserved steeplecab, but with 6 axles and pantographs instead of trolley poles, is Spanish National Railways (RENFE) 6101 at the Madrid Railway Museum.
