I let the background photo dictate the brightness. I didn't pump it up. Could just be a gas giant in the Goldilocks Zone.

Yes, it was. Personally I think that was a mistake as this is a more sophisticated design. It doesn't really say "one of the first starships" to me. So... I love the Akira, but the Archer Enterprise, not so much.

I believe that was the reason why the Enterprise series was cancelled so early. Nothing really made sense at the end, in fact season 6 and 7 was supposed to be the Romulan War. That would've been a really good story.

Do you play with color contrast much? I'm curious how much control you with your tools to change the light source from above the Akira class ship to light it only from the planet side?

Thanks. This is a surprisingly challenging ship to make purdy pictures with?! It's got a neat shape, but only a few angles really show off its "cool".
