Description Doing mostly hard drive maintenance, today. But I decided to a quick 2D-3D integration using the X-33 from Kenny's Crap.

As always excellent work! Please do more futuristic SSTO/TSTO Vehicles. Aerospike engines. Yet another promising, under-appreciated, technology come a cropper because of NASA's incompetence.

I'm not sure I'd blame NASA on this one. There was a lot of politics in the mix, too.

Beautiful but very painful to see this. I was a contractor involved with the Venture Star effort at NASA Ames. End of story.

Yeah, Venture Star... THERE'S a program that I miss! And reading about the debacle that ultimately killed it is even more painful.

Good catch by the watcher re: an ESA launch site. I first thought Vandenburg.

Yup - it was built on an Airane V launch image.

That's one thing I love about this art community - there's so much great influence to be had... and in flows back and forth and all around!

This should so be the next design for space craft technology!

Well it was...and sorta is, if only it got the funding.

now That's A Lift Off!
Don't know which has 2 and which 3 D. And except for that is a good thing, it doesn't matter at all, cause the result is what counts (in my humbly devious opinion)
And here it is a big WrrOoooOOooom! Or so....
Great composition, great power and great dynamic even without any "movement-effect" in it!

If you can't tell which is 2D and which is 3D, I count that as a total success!! THANKS

Sweet next gen shuttle. Reminds me of the one in the Enterprise intro.

I wish NASA would just do something cool like this for once. Also, the polys visible in the vertical stabilizer...are they supposed to look that way?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RobCaswell In reply to JamieTakahashi [2011-01-12 20:49:55 +0000 UTC]

Yep, they are. They're supposed to be panel/tile differentiations, I think. I actually toned them down quite a bit from the texture default.

Who knows? With all the commercial companies taking interest in space travel, I wouldn't be surprised if the Venturestar actually got revived like Orion.
