I grew up reading Judge Dredd in the British comic: 2000ad, and still think the early stories drawn by Mike McMahon are some of the best comic art ever.The character has a very distinctive costume, and because of the detail this was a very time-consuming picture - but I'm pleased with the result.
This is an entirely original depiction - drawn in Photoshop with a Wacom pad.

Trust me - the comic is an all-time great! Some of my favourite artists worked on 2000ad - like Mike McMahon, Carlos Ezquera, Steve Dillon... the list goes on!

You're right - Brian Bolland is another fantastic artist mostly known for his 2000ad work. He has such a detailed and easily recognisable style. I've sometimes bought a comic just for his cover!

Well then I suggest you read "Batman:The Killing Joke" because he doesn't just do the cover, but the entire book
Also it's a good story, written by "Watchmen"s Alan Moore

Well I thought the movie was rather good, so I could only imagin how great the comic is. because most of the time with movies based off a comic are sorry renditions. And plus how do you take a hero seriously when he wears a red and blue underwear with stars all over it? and its even more silly in movies. LOL
But at least with Judge dread, those outfits are more badass and not silly in the slightest.

I didn't even know they were doing a new Dredd film! Thanks to you I've looked it up online and seen the costume and lawgiver. Will reserve judgment on Karl Urban as Dredd until more stills/clips surface. If the film bombs you might want to scrap that version of the lawgiver!

my pleasure buddy, and to answer your question, the guy is not so called popular, but known to few of us, and was never published in France. I had my comics from a retailer who imported them

Indeed! This took about 15hrs - although I did waste time on a few different backgrounds. Definitely a character better suited to traditional pen & ink because it's quicker than the full (digital) painted look. Thanks for looking in and for the comment.

Haha, Oh I can see good point in most movies, I'm a bit of an easy please but I think that movie could have been done a lot better.
A new version could definitely be cool and Vin could work I reckon.
