Description "Outta the way, tiny!  Wait, am I really your type?  Aww!  You're gonna make me blush!  C'mere ya little cutie!!!"

Dr. Doris Zuel was a brilliant scientist, but she decided to put her genius intellect into dubious experiments.  The most outlandish and questionable was to create a performance enhancing drug that was both difficult to trace and consisted of anabolic steroids combined with mountain gorilla DNA.  She dreamt of this experiment earning her fame and fortune, but all her experimentation had been unauthorized by S.T.A.R. Labs due to the controversial nature of using a controlled substance.  She had only to test the concoction, when a fight between Wonder Woman and Cheetah interrupted and changed everything.  In the chaos that followed, Wonder Woman slugged Cheetah so hard, she was sent flying into the lab where Doris was working in.  Much to the scientist's horror, Cheetah, mistaking the formula for poison, threw it at Wonder Woman hoping to catch her off guard.  Yet before the daughter of Zeus could defend herself from the vial, Doris got in the way, hoping to save her research.  The result was that she got the concoction soaked all over her, and even ingested a small portion of it by accident.  Yet the serum proved itself to be highly unstable, and it activated the metagene that had been dormant inside of her.

Soon, Doris began to witness her newfound powers for the first time: she could alter her size, strength and durability at will, while still retaining her genius intellect.  Angered by the loss of her life's work, and believing Wonder Woman to be responsible for that and her current state, Doris decided to take out her vengeance, and was reborn as the villainess, Giganta.

So, there were multiple origin stories for Giganta in the comics, that it was hard for me to choose one, so with the aid of my occasional collaborator, , I decided to create a totally original backstory for her.  The ponytail was definitely inspired by how she looked in the DCAU, as is the belt, choker, right bracelet and the pink on her outfit.  The leopard print, though was a reference to what she wore during the Golden Age of Comics.  Also as in the DCAU, despite her size and strength, Giganta is not only incredibly smart, but she's also extremely girly, with an interest in men who are shorter than her.  As a result, despite her being a supervillain, she will sometimes commit crimes to get the attention of superheroes such as the Atom, and it has led to her occasionally asking heroines such as Star Sapphire, or even Starfire, for dating advice.

Disclaimer:  Giganta belongs to D.C. Comics, Harry G. Peter and Dr. William Moulton Marston PhD.

Awesome.

She does actually look like she is beating her chest, which is something I would like her to do, one day.

Nice touch with the leopard print leotard. It's a nice callback to the characters' early years in the comics.

Thanks! I didn’t want to go for the whole “Tarzan bikini” look she originally had, but still wanted to incorporate the leopard print into Giganta’s costume somehow. When I looked at the design for the outfit she wore in Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, I loved the patterns on the torso, hands and legs, so I decided that anywhere black would be replaced with leopard print, and the rest would be either grey or pink.

Is there a chance she might become a hero in the future, possibly because of a crush she has on a hero?

Well given her preference for men shorter than her, it could be that she might reform if it meant she could end up dating the Atom (Ray Palmer).

Actually, by the time Ryan Choi is the Atom, he's one of the Teen Titans, and he's already dating fellow Titan, Enigma.
