The timing of this photo is uncanny... I'm trying to get over my fear of snakes seeing as I have two friends who are going to be breading them. This photo is so beautiful it makes me want to get over my fear and take artistic photos of them! Very inspiring!

Awwh, that's a beautiful snake!
I really want one myself, but they are illegal to have as pets in my country (dumb intolerant norwegian government ), so getting one isn't easy. Would have to smuggle it across the border or buy it illegaly.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm up to the task of keeping a snake.

But! Great photo, grats on the DD

robinism In reply to Glenruben [2008-03-10 18:17:13 +0000 UTC]

thank you
yeah the laws differ from country to country *sigh*
keeping snakes are wonderful but they are pretty high maintenance and patience and not all are nice and you must accept and respect them for that. also you must realize that some can live up to 20+ years. so they are long term "pets"

Oh wow. What a gorgeous snake. He's beautifully coloured. I've always wanted a pet snake. And I see from the rest of your gallery that you have several. I'm so jealous!

By the way, the lighting is fantastic.

militarymarinebratt In reply to robinism [2008-03-10 05:48:32 +0000 UTC]

haha well if i get s snake then I would somehow find out how to get a rheticulated python...those are my favorites

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

robinism In reply to militarymarinebratt [2008-03-10 18:27:59 +0000 UTC]

well be prepared because they can be very very nasty acting and they get HUGE and take up lots of space. when they are full grown, it takes two people to clean, feed, move etc. big one can eat chickens, ducks, lil pigs and big bunnies as food they can reach lengths of 30 feet and weigh a couple of hundred pounds and live up to 20 years

militarymarinebratt In reply to robinism [2008-03-10 23:44:02 +0000 UTC]

yeah i know...thats why i wont one iv been fasinated with rheticulated pythons for years...i love how long they get, how old they live, how they eat...i think they are just fasinating reptiles ...but yes...the whole "two person to take care of it" and "eating chickens and whatnot" may be the most challeneging aspect of it

Snake poo isn't that bad, really... especially in comparison to the musking (gag). But poo is still poo. XD

robinism In reply to Hyascinthe [2008-03-12 01:19:38 +0000 UTC]

naw snake poo isn't bad unless its from a larger constrictor or python and the only reason its gross then is because of the size LOL. i had a 12 foot retic poo on me |:
