It has a lot of good features to it sure, but I have a problem with the fact it's taking away a lot of Core Membership products. Unless they're doing something to replace the biggest part of dA that's going to be missing, I don't truly see a point in it!

I'm sure they're going to be replacing it with something that works in a similar way.
Like, maybe they'll add something like tumblr with themes and all of that that you can use and/or edit ?

They're removing ads and wouldnt be making very much off core if they removed coding because most people buy core for the coding.

I think since Beta testers got an early insider look, they should have included those possibilities in the outcome (since beta testers ARE core members for the most part). As of right now, it just overall seems underwhelming and a waste of time. The other problem is the company who bought dA (which is where eclipse is coming from), they tend to remove a lot of customization options to make all of their sites seem 'professional' and make them less exciting to make portfolios for ACTUAL companies instead of generalized freelancers. So, overall, I'm not exactly excited for Eclipse and I hope they take a lot of our opinions seriously.
