Description This pot was made by a Mogollon potter (probably female) before Europeans arrived in the Americas. It is a type archaeologists call Three Circle Neck Coiled, c. 800 - 1000 AD, found on a ranch near Reserve, New Mexico. It is a cooking pot, but too small for family use, so maybe it was carried by one person (probably male) while travelling. I added a few tools a traveller would take, such as a knife or scraper, two small arrow heads for hunting and a corn cob (modern). And a few stars in the background to represent lonely nights out in the field....
This image is the result of 9 shots combined by focus stacking for increased depth of field, using Lightroom and dedicated stacking software Helicon Focus. Nikkor 2.8/105mm macro lens at f 8, D850 camera. Height is c. 11 cm (4 1/2 inches). Learning new things while under corona social distancing - appreciate your comments and faves. featured inΒ fav.me/ddvm7a9 and fav.me/ddvsg8n thanks guys!
