Description
Well, the group that Aygul Topal (the girl) was created for has long since gone belly-up, and Faris Kasem (the boy) never really worked as a mundane mortal sort, so I decided to reincarnate them both as djinn in my original universe. Fun fact, you probably know djinn is the word we bastardized the term "genie" from, but did you know it's actually plural? Djinni is singular male, djiniri is singular female. So he's a djinni, she's a djiniri, and they're both djinn!

Anyway, he's an ifit (fire djinn) and she's a marid (sea djinn), which are the two types. They've each got a human form (pictured here), an animal form (pretty much any animal is possible; his is a horse, I haven't decided on hers), and an elemental form (fire or water depending on their type). Legend says that they live in societies like that of pre-Islamic Arabia (which makes sense, since legends of djinn predate the Islam religion, though they were later incorporated into it) so I'm going with that as the basis of their culture, mixed with Ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamia (since the range of Ancient/Pre-Islam Arabia was pretty much situated between those two places), with a healthy dose of just plain originality (since a society of shape-changers will be radically different in LOADS of ways that any human society ever) I'm hoping to make it really fantastical without it feeling like an Arabian Nights stereotype. Sort of a "what if a fantasy society were based on some country OTHER than Medieval Europe for once" thing.

Also, getting Faris's skin tone anywhere CLOSE to even was a fucking nightmare.
