How do you do the purple/green outlines? They really add to the piece.

Gorgeous stuff, Rogie. I always am filled with complete admiration for your technique - your expression has come a long way since the exclusively cell-shaded days. Honestly? When you started to deviate from it all, I found it a bit disconcerting but I guess it just took me that little longer in finding appreciation for what is your self-explored art and design experience which is ever changing and will remain this way until you're expired... I totally dig your paintings for its style/aesthetic and the techniques/methods you use to achieve those. Especially true for your women, not that I'm physically attracted honestly, but they always make for the most dynamic subjects - and your work never fails to go above and beyond those expectations. Good luck with facebook, I'll like you when I remember my password. 'Cause, I do like you!

Hey man, wow. I love reading your comments!
Thanks again for the support. I dunno how to explain it, but Ive always loved to paint more than cell shade. Its just that I never found a good brush that immitates real life painitng. This is why i like it, I use to paint in oils, and the mark making and approach is very important to me. Cell shade was good because it helped me learn core shadows but I still find ways to improve my painting skills.

Thanks tho! comments like these inspire me more I know people come see my work mainly for my cell shading/anime stuff. But I do more than just that haha started as a hobby, now is a profession

Right! I do remember your A-level oil paintings from your Custodio account. And while my philosophy in art is based on what's not real & true to life because of relevant experiences, I focus more efforts for the cell-shading & cartoons these days... But the fact is that I totally appreciate that being an artist is a lot to do with conformity, or rather the lack thereof. Without ass-licking: you were the driving force for me when I first discovered way back when I didn't even know what a graphics tablet was! You were particularly exemplary to what I wanted to achieve, and despite differences in methodologies, philosophies and whatever sheer preferences in our practice - to this day, you help inspire my ambitions. Moral of the story is that it's crucial or at least very beneficial for artists, in spite of all their inevitable variances, to be sincere in efforts to inspire artistic growth in themselves and of their contemporaries.

Rog, I think you'll find that the abundance at which you receive people looking at your anime is accounted a lot for the type of people who were like me back in 2006; whose values in art are driven by trends and very common interest which constitutes their concentration of anime exclusively, rather than identifying with your work on a more personal level. I reckon most of your serious audience will grow artistically and will eventually find full appreciation for anything you do beyond that of anime which will more than likely become a nostalgia for them!

I'm just sayin' because I don't want you to be disheartened. As you say yourself, your work is more ''professional'' (in skill but as well) in the sense of commercial interest and is subject to other criteria than that which your fans necessarily look for (depending on each respective piece you submit here). Press on buddy, do your thing as you do it impecabbly. Don't worry too much about it. Β

Love the slight green/violet edging, I know there's a word for it but I forget what it's called. Β Anyways, it adds a nice edge to the portrait.
