That could be debated. Link's design prior to getting the Hero's Clothes are similar to Ariel's attire.

Last night I read comments on a Facebook article. Some are pitching a fit about it, some slinging mud about it being a feminist agenda, etc. What aren't people getting upset over these days.
What could be done with Linkle (pick a better name for her if possible) is make a new adventure in Hyrule around her and Link with her being a long lost twin sister of Link's who is also a warrior. Have the game play be where you can either play as Link or Linkle. Or have Linkle specialize in a different weapon so at times the gamer needs to play as her. Either way it could make for another great Legend of Zelda style game.
