That depends. There are such things as IR lasers. that only show up on nightvis or other such special visual enchancements. Safe to say such technology would probably exist to a higher degree in the future!

You would think, but Halo's 500 years into the future and they've been lacking on a number of things.
Joking criticisms aside, you're right. In my writing, I always like to give Fireteam Hammerhead a little bit more specialty tech than Halo had previously allowed.
