Biography
History
Coming from her roots, any person seeing the Chandler name would think that Auburn had for sure gone into the ranching business! It was their signature line of work, even branching out into orientating parts of the business. Ranching supplies, cattle and sheep breeding, multiple farms throughout Sinnoh- you name it the Chandler family owned some kind of share in it within the region. So when Auburn came out with that she wanted to be a farmer instead, you can imagine the surprise from everyone.
The then young Charmander was fully accepting of the family business, and had no qualms with going into it. However in between running about the mareep and fiddling with the miltank and brushing the ponyta, Auburn would busy her free time with berries. Reading little ‘how to’ books and watering the little bushes around her house that her grandfather kept, tending to this delicate part of life brought a sense of peace to the hyperactive child. It was a brand new experience and one that she discovered all on her own! Better yet, it was something that her brothers weren’t involved in.
While being loving siblings, the two older twins were full of nothing but mischief. Hard working while with their parents, the Charmeleon and Grovyle duo were full of trouble and tricks. Of course, they teased their baby sister often, but push come to shove they defended her when she was scolded or helped to create excuses for when she was missing- something along the lines of “I think I saw her with the Miltank!”, or “I believe she’s brushing the Ponyta!”, would be told to their parents when they were asked on the whereabouts of their little sister. Aside from making excuses and the occasional teasing, the twins weren’t very interactive in her life.
After discovering the little secret pleasure of berries, Auburn began taking more and more time out of her day to care for the plants. At some point she was sneaking off to get more informational books and sneaking new seeds out of her grandfather’s office to plant them with the other growing berries; of course as a child she didn’t think that anyone would begin to suspect how a new berry bush was planted (a very sloppy one, might I add) or why she came back to the main house coated in dirt and smelling the same as those sweet berries. But these facts didn’t bother her parents, and only alerted the one person who was familiar with these signs.
Her grandfather, a happy old Furret, was her father’s father and had grown up in the early years as a farming/ranching duo with his wife; his particular specialty was berry farming. So of course when his berry how-to books were scattered about the floor and his new seeds went missing every week, the only thing he could do was chuckle and think about what new seeds to get next week and how to rearrange his books this time.
After so many years of fiddling with farming (if you could call it that) and helping her family with the business, Auburn finally hit the “adult” age of 19. Her parents confronting her about their future business plans, the Charmander could only hold her breath and pray that her words would be heard. Farming?! But how? Hadn’t she grown loving the family business? Running about the maeep, fiddling with the miltank, brushing the ponyta? Of course she enjoyed all of those things! She loved working with those animals and with her parents. But it wasn’t her passion; her little secret. It took a few days for her parents to consult with each other: Should the business be passed onto her brothers? What about the new gift they had gotten her? What had they missed over the years that could have helped them support her more?
It took until the grandfather reminded them of the growing berry bush farm surrounding the house, and how the little farm had begun to spread to different corners of the ranch’s land. And with bemused sighs and new planning, the Chandler parents came back to their daughter with a new offer for their business.
A little farm in a region not far from here, where she could begin her own part of the family business- a farming branch! And while they weren’t quite prepared as they were for ranching, another gift to help her begin; a small Growlithe pup to help with whatever she could find use for, even if just as a companion. Though of course her father fully encouraged he be used for other tasks if she ever chose to do so (one of many suggestions being sheep herding).
A few months of preparation and the Charmander was ready to leave. A kiss from mom, a kiss from dad, and a warm hug to each. With her goodbyes given to her family, Auburn left for the island chain of Raccolto, and began her new farming life.
By the time she became 21, Auburn had transformed. Many mysterious things had happened on Raccolto before, but never had she suspected that any of them could become permanent. It took her by extreme surprise when she was offered a mask at that Cirque de la Lune and became a Quilladin; this astonishment didn’t quite set in until after the circus had left and she was still in her altered totem! But the woman has grown some since this change- coming across hard times and sad times, gaining and losing a love, and growing her farm ever so slightly. Seeing her mother during a holiday even brightened her outlook on this “new life”, and she has become inspired to work harder at friends and love after being able to accept herself. She considered returning to her roots a little and starting up a ranch... However, life doesn't always go as planned, as it led her to return too far to her roots.
Auburn left the islands for around a year and a half in order to help care for her family's business; the twins had gone off to take short term courses in business and her parents desperately needed an extra hand around to take care of the workload her brother's left behind. Originally she was only supposed to be there for a few months until extra help could be hired, but the Quilladin fell back into her home lifestyle and ended up staying until the twins could return. Auburn's father attempted to coax her back into the family business once again, mentioning how much she enjoyed her time at home, but the woman still refused and decided to return once again to Raccolto to continue her life as a farmer. Sadly, she had sold her previous property beforehand, unsure of how long she was going to stay and not wanting to leave it to waste, so now she must find a new home and start from scratch.
Before she left, Auburn decided it was best to leave Xaden (her Arcanine from before) behind so her parents could use him as the herder he was intended to be, taking a new Growlithe pup with her.
Personality
Spunky | Confident | Temperamental
As a young Charmander, Auburn was very active; running around the mareep and fiddling with the miltank as her parents handled the work. It wasn’t unusual for someone to see her running up to business partners visiting the ranch and greet herself, even if she had met them before. Having spunk was her most notable characteristic, and she held onto that fact.
Of course being a little on the crazy side would give a child an abundance of confidence, and it went hand in hand for Auburn as she showed off anything and everything! The littlest drawing in the dirt or the one patch of fur that she brushed on the ponyta, boy was she quick to let someone know of her hard work. This pride paid off, allowing her to grow up as a young woman not afraid to prove herself with hard work and let others know of her accomplishments- of course these bragging rights were only presented when asked about.
With such strong emotions, Auburn can be a bit temperamental at times. She can get easily emotional when her pride is hurt or an insult is flung at someone she cares deeply about. Despite her more calm nature as a Quilladin, she still has the fiery temper from her childhood. If you see an angry frown on this girl's face, you better be apologizing quickly! She doesn’t hold back on the rebuttals, even if her face goes blue from no air.
Though her angry tid bits here and there have been mostly soothed as of late; one would believe it to be due to her totem change from the Cirque de La Lune a few years ago. She keeps, for the most part, to her cheery nature and friendly behavior even when meeting strangers. So come on up and chat! It’s likely she won’t turn you away.

Talents
• Due to her many years of reading, growing, and tasting of berries, Auburn is able to name most (if not all) berries by their descriptions or taste.
• While she’s no pastry chef, Auburn can make tasty little treats. If a recipe is provided, of course!
Fun Facts
• Auburn's two brothers, Gabriel and Julian, happen to be twins! Though the two are not identical (different totems) and are ultimately easy to tell apart. They tend to mail her often and give updates on the family business and promises to come see her soon.
• Auburn is the only known family member to have a job outside of ranching from the Chandler family. It is likely there are others that have migrated from it, but none that have caught the attention of the main family.
• Xaden was a parting gift from her parents, who had gotten him as a young pup for Auburn when they thought she had the intentions of going into ranching. It’s her father's hopes that he will be used as a sheep herding dog one of these days, as that was his intended use. He currently resides at her parents, where he continues his training for herding. Maybe he'll be back later!
• Auburn was originally a Charmander when coming to the islands at the age of 19. However, during the Cirque de la Lune even in 2014, she has been permanently transformed into a Quilladin.

Pet Information
Dog's Race: Growlithe
Dog's Name: Titus
Titus' Gender: Male
Titus is less mischievous than Xaden was, but that also means he's more obedient. Rather than tearing up her veggies, the pup tries his best to carry out his duties as well as he's capable of. Along with this more dedicated work ethic came a serious apathetic attitude. He doesn't care for events or dressing up, and really only likes to be with Auburn or those living on the homestead. He'll only leave or get along with others if it's for a valid reason.
