EDIT: This stamp has served it's purpose. DA has finally done what this little guy has been saying to do for about two months now. True, the new mature system isn't exactly the same as is was before, but I personally think it's better. See here for details: [link]Thank you to everyone who faved or commented on this stamp. I am not pleased with DA taking away the "Display Anyway" function on mature flags. As far as I'm concerned it is the artists responsibility to mature the picture, and give a reason for it to be matured, and the viewer's responsibility to decide weather they should see it or not, regardless of age.
I can't even view some of my own pictures anymore! And I know plenty of other artists under eighteen who draw mature artwork and can't see it now either!
If you want DA to bring back the "Display Anyway" function, please

i find many DA members not to be mature and responsible enough to handle the things they find here.

Agreed, totally. Even though this is old.
Hell, I've seen stuff that's only flagged as mature that are VERY most likely a LOT worse than stuff that are restricted to mature groups, only.
Same goes with youtube...slightly. But no nearly as bad as how DA can be, for sure.
Therefore, I really don't see that much of a point of having a deviation be totally "off-limits," anyways. It's the individual's problem if he/she didn't expect to see what they saw, anyways.
Besides, it's the submitters mere personal opinion that determines if it's just flagged or restricted. :\

I'm glad the new system let's stuff through, but then again i came here AFTER it changed, but to hear that the 18+ stuff was viewable makes me sad, Because alot of people whose art i like, and alot of thier storys, occasionally have that rating on thier work, my parents allow me to see that stuff, and the only reason i didn't lie about my age is that i have ENOUGH reasons why the goverment wants me XD of course that's probably for going up to the parliment building and giving it rude gestures.... JKJK XD But still, I understand the need for a warning

I think that mature system does exactly the contrary of what it was supposed to do.
It was supposed to prevent young pure and virgin spirits from things that may corrupt them.
But I'm sure I'm not the only one to open every single piece marked mature on the first page. I don't see them so I cannot judge if I want to see them or not, so I open them all and decide afterwards.
I probably wouldn't have clicked on most of them if I could have seen the preview XD

And another side note would be...in school we're forced to take sex education yes? We see plenty of pictures there, and another thing, is sometimes the pictures are just gory...and I don't know about you but I'm a violent and disgusting person, in my head I could imagine anything I wanted to way worse then some silly picture on a website, or movie.
The law doesn't seem to understand this lol.

if you are under 18 you arent allowed to post anything with mature content and if you get reported you will get a ban- i asked them about that and that was their answer
also they said something about calling the police
but since you are allowed to have sex since you are 15, why cannot you see mature content under 18?

and like you said, if the artist puts a mature label and the viewer displays anyway and somehow gets offended that is the fault of the viewer not the artist themself. it is sad
