Grogar once the king of monsters and powerful sorcerer hellbent on bringing Equestria and all who inhabit it to it's knee's, now a much happier and kinder king who loves spending time with his wife and son. Many never thought of why he had done all those things back in the day or his reasons most were trying to survive his rampage at the time, but those days are long past him and he's working on it all as well as taking it all in stride as he goes.

He never thought at the time coming to the kingdom of Butterfly Island would change his life for the better ever since the assassination of his queen, he had been led and blinded by his rage and grief which led him to take revenge on the ponies for taking the one creature that he could ever love away from him. He closed his heart and emotions off from the world as a way to protect himself and never wanted to feel that pain again, cause before he married his queen he never really had the most stable love life since most of them were after his wealth and power but he wanted to find someone who wasn't just in it for the power and money when he met his queen it was like his prayers had been answered.

She loved him for him and he loved her so that's why her sudden death had taken such a toll on him, but now thanks to this queen a pony no less was the driving force for him and taught him to open his heart and love again. Being with Starcatcher is like he's with his queen again but there are things that are different from his queen and he finds that endearing about her, the day they got married he vowed to love her the same way he loved his queen and he has kept his vows faithfully.

Butterfly Island has a more calming beauty to it as well as it's colorful yet delicate inhabitants, when she gave him a tour of the kingdom the ram was amazed and seeing only black for so long this new world was new, colorful, and amazing he wanted to know about this new place, this new kingdom that he was to rule alongside his queen. Seeing things so clearly for the first time in so long there was a childlike curiosity to him and Starcatcher loved that about him. When his first child was born he was over the moon with excitement but at times a bit paranoid with everything around him wanting to protect his son and with the death of his queen having a traumatic experience for him.

He would get weary with others around him and tended to look over his shoulder as well as having the best of the guards on the look out, Starcatcher suggested that maybe he should seek some help since he's been on edge ever since Dream was born, of course Grogar knew he was no help to his son like this and so he decided maybe this was something he needed help with so he had started to go to therapy to deal with his issues cause he had a lot of them, he got so used to bottling up his problems and emotions it took him a while to open up but with help from his wife and his therapist, he was finally able to open up and talk he was diagnosed with PTSD but is making real progress.

Grogar adores his son and loves to read with him as well as having naps with him to which Starcatcher finds them sometimes sleeping together with Dream curled up against his father and Grogar curled up around his son. There was no way he wanted to go back to the way he was before and he will always love his Queen but he's happy, he's finally gotten the happy ending he had so long dreamt of.
