you drew the same one? gotta see it! but it's not in your gallery i figured..
ok, now to your deep analysis: 't was actually really helpful.
- true, background and hair was very hard to do, i spent most the time with it.
- lips: well, they definitely look "twisted", but on the other hand, it's rather the perspective of the original foto where you can see the same effect. since the photographer must have been rather near her face, hence the weird perspective. at least that's what i figured.. but shading aint perfect, true -- thanks for your hints!
- face: again true, it could've been darker just like the photo, but i kinda wanted it not that dark. i actually lightened up the ref-photo so that i could see more of the details that were originally just black on black..
oh, and i rarely get the comment that my whole gallery is great, since i do so many different things. but thank you very much!

If I were an art teacher I would cry, due to the fact your using a photo refferance, such a talent should not be squandered. But I am no art teacher, so let me say that your penciling work is amazing. Something seems off about her right eye though. Great show of lighting as well as line work. I find the way you show the hair to be great. Her ear seems to fade off weird in the darkness kinda like an elf. But I could be wrong. I see nothing wrong with this picture really. It is great, nothing more can be said by me, then what previous comments have already done.

As I saw it download on the Portrait Club thing, I was like 'Oh, Keira Knightly'. Very nice. Have you noticed how much she looks like Natalie Portman? These two actresses look a lot alike, but Natalie is more etheral and Keira is more real looking. Both stunning. Nice work!

wow the pic is really very good... no comparison to my lil messy stuff... the weird eyes you menioned are because they do not look into the same direction... thats all the eyes one by one are perfect, but because they do not look into the same direction you theink somethings wrong...

I think I've already told you that I liked this. Her left eye seems a bit off, but the overall picture is gorgeous!

hm, I don't like to criticise without knowing what it is that "off" exactly, so after a long study of your drawing and the photograph, I have to admit there's something strange going on with the way Keira looks into the camera in the photograph. Her right eye looks straight into the camera, while her left eye seems like it's drifting slightly more to the left of the screen. In your picture, that contrast is a little bit bigger, because you made the white space around the iris clearer. This is clearer if you cover each eye seperately with your hand. The left eye is also just a teensy bit narrower than on the photo.
however, should you browse my gallery, you may notice the complete lack of portraits there, so I don't want to presume knowing a lot about it, or indeed being any good at it.
Your picture inspires me to make some more portraits though, so thanks! And again, I really like this picture. I especially like how you did the hair and shading.
