effort yeah hella kicks ass... I just tend to nit pick when it comes to hands and feet... but it always comes out for the better for the artist...
1.) when the fingers are extended the way you did, the pinkie tends to be a bit longer - in the drawing it looks a little too short. Best suggestion is to look at your own hand in the same position (middle 3 fingers slightly bent and the pinkie finger straight)
2.) feet... grr I have the same prollem. The bump on the straightened foot (like the one you drew) is on the ankle not on the actual foot... again use your own foot for example... you can see that the ankle bone alligns with the curve on the foot. other examples you can look at are pictures of ballet dancers... or just x-men comics
3.)not having to do with the hand or feet. Unless the world is on som kind of angled floor then you might wanna re-look at the floor in the picture... the angle of the circle compared to the angle of the skirt on the floor ar two different angles. In order for the floor circle to be a circle it would have to be an oval that's a bit longer on the sides and shorter on the top and bottom.
Other than that - I love the idea, she's very beautiful - great features to her face w/ gorgeous hair, the detail in her outfit and background, the writing on the floor, I love that she's summoning a Pheonix - my favorite mythical animal... also it's the first time I've ever seen a red headed summoner. *thumbs up* very awesome

the textures presented in this are fantastic, i especially like the splotches on the wall, makes the whole thing look that much more realistic

While i'm not too keen on the beveled shapes in the background, the foreground really shines. I love the coloring and shading, and how the light shines from the orb down her body and over the wings.... very cool work

It's better when it's bigger. It took me a minute to find my name.
Of course, this is wonderfully done. The detail, the colors and especially the shine of the metal is superb. The character is suitably interesting and doesn't blend into the background. The background, for that matter, is inspired and wonderful; I especially love how you hid the names of your friends within the arcane sigils.
The wings look nice; the sketchy effect makes them look softer and more feathery.
The only things I am not too thrilled about is her waist; it's quite tiny. But that's personal preference I guess. It looks in proportion, but not at the same time. Or maybe I'm just imagining things. It's also sort of monotone, but then again you probably intended that.
Do not get offended at my criticism or I will hunt you down and grope you in your sleep. >.>;

Nice work. You have a clean and stylised look going.
Just one thing; you're going to need to work on the hands (nothing to be ashamed of; hands are some ofthe hardest things to do)
