Like usual, criticism of any kind would be appreciated! Please point out anything you see that could use improvement.An unfinished piece featuring one of my fav pokemon, Swellow! But seriously, it's hideously unfinished, so try to ignore those ugly feathers, legs, talons, etc. I probably won't pick this back up again, but it did help me with lighting a bit.
Swellow, along with pokemon in general, is property of Gamefreak, or Nintendo, or someone else. I'm really not sure. ;

It's kind of amazing that this is a WIP cause I find it to be excellent, But that's just me I suppose. The intense glare I get from this Swellow is highly intensified by the fantastic use of darkness and grim shading. That said, this use of shading really fleshes out the pokemon and makes it appear rather realistic and life-like. Iunno, I find it to be rather incredible; either way it makes a nice Wallpaper for my desktop. ...Oh did I say that aloud?

I see. You create base reference with 3d application and then paint-over it. This is a really good technique, I saw many professionnal artist using this method. Thumb up.

Oh, no. I don't even have a program that can make 3D models (unless photoshop CS3 can, which I've been told it can). All my pieces are produced using 2D methods! But thanks, anyway.

I also like how you posted the WIP. I can kind of make a guess at the techniques you're using and I'm interested in trying them sometime.
