Description
This is a blank journal (about A5 size) that I've painted with purple-gold acrylics and attached a decorative handmade polymer clay cover to. ... YAY!
I've been wanting to do one of these for ages, but it took a while to find the right sort of notebook I was after. I always prefer spiral bound because you can tear the pages out if you make a mistake
I'm just so pleased with how this turned out.
I scuplted it entirely out of black clay (it's the easiest colour to work with, I find. For some reason it's softer)... then after I cured it in my oven, I added a lot of metallic waxes, powders, and paints to shine it up and add some much needed colour.

I love this design! You said you used industrial glue to glue on the cover. Do you remember what brand you used? I was thinking about trying a cover and using hot glue but I don't know if that's okay. What would you suggest?

I use an industrial strength epoxy glue, E6000. You can buy in online and in craft stores. I usually pick mine up on eBay.

I create the entire cover just on a flat surface (after drawing the outline of the journal cover so I don't make it too big).

Isn't it though? I've been considering getting into clay more, but I've been too intimidated-- I don't have spectacular ideas that could stand alone, such as this... more complimentary, than anything lol
