Description I'm so lucky to have found you.

You're my one in a million.

*smiles a big cheesy smile* ~e1n calls me a cheeseball for a reason, y'know.

Okay, originally I planned to do something like this, before or after my convention (because it isn't fanart, it probably would have been put off until after). But, =draa 's contest came up and I decided, "heck, why not" and pushed to finish this drawing... I didn't make it last week due to school, but she extended the deadline *celebrates*

I am most proud of the polka-dot gradient on the girls shirt. And I'm a sucker for boys in blazers/more put-together clothing (vests, ties, collared shirts).

Tools: Copic Sketch markers and multiliners on A4 manga paper (have not worked this small in ages), PSCS3
Time: 20+ hours?

so pretty!
i am in love with this.
i like how you drew them and their clothes.. and everything!
btw, can i ask,? when you use a copic marker then you put one layer and add another of the same color, will it get darker?
thanks~

rubberyjido In reply to scarletblush18 [2009-07-18 05:19:27 +0000 UTC]

if you are using the same copic marker on top of the same color, it will get gradually darker. if you work while it's still wet, it will be a slighter/smaller difference in value. wait til it dries first, it will be a little bigger. but building up takes a while - so if you're trying to bypass buying darker colors, it's not a good idea. you should still buy darker markers because you will save the ink of your lighter marker.

Oh my, wow! I love it! It gives you this calm and soothing feeling...and green...feeling I love the effort you did on the grass (from what I see, it looks really good!)

What colors did you use for the grass? Its so good and I would really like to know

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rubberyjido In reply to Beverii [2009-05-14 00:07:57 +0000 UTC]

I used like 10 colors on the grass @__@ and i'm guessing you mean the blades of grass in the front, because those hilly areas are different colors too. But I believe I used G82, G94, G85, BG93, YG13 (for the yellowy-green areas.

did you do the grass by putting a layer of a lighter shade of green, then doing the strokes on top? it looks really nice and detailed ^^ how i love your copic skills~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

wishmakerz In reply to rubberyjido [2009-04-28 20:28:14 +0000 UTC]

LOL XD well what i meant was that it looks huge because of the feeling it gave off... Like the metal full of four leaf clovers, really gives off the "one in a million" big kind of... feeling.

Your backgrounds are always so awesome and the expressions the characters have are too.

Oh and what browns did you use for the girls hair?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rubberyjido In reply to Kimiko-x [2009-04-28 17:44:39 +0000 UTC]

I used E74 and E77 (my faves!) for the girl's hair.

mima57775 [2009-04-28 15:40:23 +0000 UTC]

I really admire the amount of work that you put into your backgrounds. Sure grass is repetitive and seems easy, but I know it takes skill to make it look random and not so uniform!

Another thing I really like, though I may be misinterpreting it, is how the characters are interacting with their eyes. The guy is looking at the girl character, and the girl character looks away. Gah so cute xD

Thank you for your kind comment!
Before my drawings always used to have non-expressive blank/empty stares.. I'm glad that I've kind of grown and was able to give some emotion to them.

And oh yes, grass! It's a pain!
