Description 668 Rhinos were poached last year in South Africa alone and the stats for 2013 are reaching a shocking 160 as I post this image!

It is only through a global effort with the necessary political and social will that we can make a difference.

This disease are very much present in India also. They kill tigers at Sundarbon, lions at Gir, and rhinos at Kajiranga. Situation is very alarming as tigers have extincted from several forests of India and lion is available only Gir forest. The rhinos are also limited to West Bengal and Assam and apart from poaching every year a few die due to flood of the Brahmaputra.

I can only imagine what the Chinese will do once they run out of pachyderms to poach in the wild

Will do. Those images hurt my heart so much. I just don't get the anger that causes this. These souls are so precious I cannot imagine this planet without them, the elephants and the large cats among the many. Blessings to you!
