I want one, and the Grand Duke has plenty of gold in his troffiures. Note me!

Love it!

What tools did you use to polish the horn to a gloss? I have quite a few black bull horns and would like to get crafty with them, but they're pretty rough right now.

several steps. First you have to take a knife and carve off the very rough surface. After that, switch to a wood rasp to even out the surface. Then use a wood file followed by rough grit sandpaper and fine grit sand paper. After all this, you follow up with steel wool and beeswax for the shine.

Uhh...how much would a commission of this sort cost? Though maybe I should ask how available they are first...hehe.

Is this used as a glass? Very nice work.

Yes, it is. They were used because they were far more durable than any clay mug at the time and frankly....when you've been drinking with viking's things tend to get broken.

Do you wax the inside?

I have used wax and seasoned with ale. Both seem to work equally well. It depends on what flavor you're going for!

It certainly is! The guy commissioned it for his brother's Christmas gift, but after seeing it he decided to commission one for himself!
