Um, trying something new for a bit.

Anyhoo, does anyone remember the game King's Quest VII: The Princeless Bride? If not, I wouldn't be surprised. I don't even know if this game was popular when it came out, back in 1997..or 98 (can't be sure). But I loved this game. It was a simple logic computer game, where you had to do a whole long list of stuff in each level to get one damn thing done.

For those of you who don't know the story, I'll give a small summary of chapter one, as you all will be wondering just what in the hell is going on in the pic.

Story
The game starts out with a young princess named Rosella, who sees a castle in a lake. Being a spirited kinda chick, she decides to jump in and get a closer look (something I would have done...). Understandably her mother, Valanice, isn't happy about that so she dives in after to find her wayward daughter. Both are transported through a swirly techno-color tunnel to the land of Eldritch. But halfway through the tunnel Rosella is sort of intercepted by a would-be suitor who also happens to be a Troll. Bummer. Her mother is deposited into a desert with nothing but her frilly green dress and her daughter's comb (which she cries over at will if you want her too. )

This leads to Chapter One. You play as Valanice, and your goal is to open this stupid door (conveniently closed by an evil sorceress) to get out of the desert and find Rosella. To do this you have to do a long list of stuff including finding a pair of glasses for a doormouse, battling a gi-normous scorpion, and putting a wayward soul to rest. Helping the dead guy was probably the worst mission in this level, as you could die quite easily chasing his ass into the maze-like desert. To help him you had to give him some drinking water (which in itself was a long process) as he complains, quite loudly, about "The thirst...it's driving me MAD..." (Although I'm more than a little confused as to why this "reknowned traveler" didn't take something as useful as a flask of WATER into a desert... )

Honestly I have no idea why I wanted to do chapter art for this game. But I had fun. With the layout I tried to make it as interesting as possible.
