Description This picture has given me hell. Really. First in the middle of designing it, my muse just deserted me. Than the paper itself decided to a pain. Than my computer would not cooperate with me. It's a conspiracy! Or I'm a little stressed out and not up to par. Anyhoo I'll stop bitching.

Done with watercolors, and may have been touched up a bit with the puter. Obviously the words were added in using a paint shop program. Got to try out my new paper made from cotton. It's ok, scans much better than the cheaper stuff I did use. And it dries faster, which may or may not be a good thing depending on what your painting.

This is another pic for *Resmiranda and her story which can be found here. HoTM

Sesshoumaru and Kagome are created and owned by Rumiko Takahashi.

I've gotten so used to drawing this version of his armor, that I find myself trying to keep with this style when not drawing HotM fanart.

Thanky. I didn't originally have a pattern on her dress, but the more I looked at her side compared to Sess's side..eh I felt he was getting more detail than her. Then I got to thinking about your painting with the trees, which then led me to thinking about pink blossoms and how they are kinda romantic. Also the flower patterns on her skirt matched up with Sess's sleeves. Wow that was long-winded.

You know what strikes me about your watercolors? How vivid they always seem to be, and how meticulous in detail. I don't know how you do it, as when I always tried water colors I ended up with a soggy paper that looked like the cover of a Grateful Dead album.

Want to know my secret? Layering. I paint over an area first, let it dry, then paint over the area again with the same color until its the right hue. After I've painted over an area so many times and got it just right, then I'll add in another color on top of all the other layers. Like say blue on purple, that works nicely. The main rule of watercolors is waiting until the paper dries before adding in the details. Which is a pain, because usually I want to rush into that with enthusiasm. Details are the best part!

YAY! More smexy cover art!

Your watercoloring is awesome, right down to the subtle tints in the backgrounds. I like this new paper of yours as it looks like it holds the strength of colors really well.

The cotton is much more stable than the other cheapy stuff I have. The only problem is, pencil marks smear like mad. But at least this paper scans easier, although I am kinda peeved that the subtle touches on Sesshoumaru's hair and clothing didn't show up clearly. I added in light touches of gray and blue into his clothing but my scanner just had to be stupid.

Eeew, smudgy pencil. Like sketching with graphite onto canvas only to realize that the oil paints will rub that shit aaaall over the place. Scanners are obnoxious for failing to pick up the tints, or not enough. Jerks!
