I actually wanted to draw a phoenix for a while and then i found this contest [link] of . So iยดm submitting it for that contest too.Phoenix are beautiful creatures with magical healing powers. They can become hundreds maybe thousands years old. When they die they burst into flames and are reborn out of there own ashes.
Took me about 10 hours to draw.

Btw, a pheonix does not have magical healing powers, only in the Harry potter books.

This piece reminds me of a poem that a friend of mine wrote (called Phoenix). She won an award for it, but I don't think she has a page on deviantART (at least, I haven't found her and she hasn't told me).
I like how the plumes of tail feathers seem to contour the clouds of ash below.
