i find them really helpful, especially since they are very simple things, so it's less intimidating to attempt.
and also because they are things i've never attempted to paint digitally before, so it's nice to step out of my comfort zone (with some guidance!)

I feel like there is a lot of disconnect between the second to last and last steps. You go from a simple orange to BAM an orange with amazing texture. Does anyone else feel this way?

Brushes most likely, just search for skin texture brushes.

An easy way to do this is to start a new layer, choose the colour depending on the orange (though I think it's better as balck or white- up to you), noise blur, then gausian blur till its soft enough. Never tried this though I know the effect is good

You shouls at least include the type of brushes you used for each step. That would make it loads easier to understand

I don't know what's going on with your fruit tutorials, but they're probably some of the best fruit how-to-draw pictures I've seen! A strawberry one would be awesome
