because by posting it on deviantART you kind of ARE saying it actually is art, and it just seems a bit naive or self contradictory to be going on World of Warcraft to take pretty screenshots of the fine but commissioned 3D modelling landscape work of somebody else. It's not very original, I guess, is what I'm saying.

Blizzard do actually encourage it with their screenshot of the day on their website so I see no problem with this
It's not like I'm marketing them as my own, I give full credit and don't modify it in any way, and I mean in a way, I'm practicing perspective by using a (beautifully crafted) fantasy world relating to photography and I get to take shots of things that don't usually exist and that's what games like WoW are for, to immerse yourself in a world that is otherwise unreal.

that's alright then i guess i took it out of context. I just saw it come up in the deviantwatch thing and as a thumbnail it looked cool so i clicked on it and I was all like "wth its world of warcraft that sucks" and got all upset and took it out on you, so sorry about that.
...but seriously, go and take some photos.
