Description Sold

Here's an original and one-of-a-kind handmade black horse with posable legs, tail, and neck. It stands about 10" tall at the head.
Made with wire and clay armature, and polyfil stuffing.

Any helpful critiques would be welcome!

Can I ask how you made the head? It blends so smoothly with neck, so I'm curious

The head was sculpted out of black sculpey clay which is connected to the wire armature of the body. The fabric was a black stretchy fabric that I carefully stretched over the head so the head was fuzzy like the rest of the body and it also let me connect the head with the neck fabric.

As for the neck, its was bit of trial & error lol. Basically I had the basic triangular shapes cut out with extra to spare and sewed it bit by bit.
Its hard to tell but the wire armature connected to the head is at the top part of the overall neck. The neck fabric slips was sewn onto the wire first. Then I would fill part of the neck with stuffing, sew it in, put more stuffing in, sew some more, etc; until it reached the jowl of the head, trimming or tightening the fabric as needed depending on the area.

Very well made. Though pay attention to the width of the legs at the join of the body they get wider with muscle grouping etc. Great piece though
