Description Just thought I'd share the WIP I shared on tumblr. I'll scrap this later.

I'm in the middle of moving across country (T-minus 1 1/2 weeks) while battling frustrating symptoms of hyperthyroid and/or stress, namely fatigue the likes of which managed to knock me off my feet almost like before I started medication (only almost though, thank god. No heart-rate-of-an-upset-cat for me ever again, please!). So I'm trying to take each day a little at a time with a chunk of chores and packing to complete and then a little R&R to relax and keep my body going for the long term.

So, like any sane person would do to relax I ad-libbed a set of non-sequitur strip comics for Gemini Journey and am working to see that through. It's just for fun, as I must remind myself, and a way for me to dip my toe into the waters of something I'm self conscious about.

These are process shots of two panels I like. I'm saving time by going straight from the rough sketch to inks, skipping the tight sketch inbetween I normally do. I've only been at this process for about 3-4 evenings, maybe 6-8 hours total, and I'm already churning out results at speeds I'm not used to. There is a loss of quality, but I'm not sure it matters on the whole.  They'll be colored in the end, too, this gray scale is just for value reference for me.

Hope you all like. It's exciting and daunting to think seriously about story content and final comic presentation and stuff like this but it's thrilling that it's happening. The first script for the first episode/volume is locked down after critiques and revisions and we're already starting to write the second script which we'll open up to beta readers in the future. So. yeah. Stuff is happening. I'm moving. Life is changing. Here's a sample of my first baby steps into comicking. Thanks all.

Even though these are just for fun, I really hope to see the final product sometime in the future. Stress can be a real bitch sometimes, but there are times where we just need to take a break from the things we do on a constant just for the sake of sanity.

But yeah, I can't wait to see the rest of this come to fruition. Great job, Tracy.

Aw, thanks for commenting man! I appreciate it. Yeah sometimes it's nice to let go of the "what I should be doings" for just...something really fun instead, and I'm trying to remember to keep this fun instead of imposing any expectations on myself like I'm likely to do.

Thanks! I look forward to sharing it as I finish them. I don't know how far I'll go with them when our GJ hiatus ends as, well, after just saying I need to let go of the what-i-should-be-doings, I probably should be doing something else with my evenings once we're unpacked in the new place and I don't have the stress excuse anymore. But I am really having a ton of fun so it will be very difficult XD.

I know the feeling. Sometimes it's hard not to take a "for fun" project seriously. But it's always best to have at least one day-off for the sake of balance.
