Explanation (because Sanzo hugging someone requires an explanation): Sanzo got tired of Goku whining and complaining about whether or not Sanzo cares about him, so Sanzo finally hugs Goku and tells him he loves him. *sigh* I've drawn this kind of scenario so many times.

I love these two so much. They're without a doubt my favorite anime/manga relationship of all time (With the exception of Konzen and Goku, but I consider Konzen and Sanzo the same person). No matter what kind of relationship we like to think they have (be it father and son, lovers, soulmates, etc), these two do in fact love each other. Goku's love for Sanzo is obvious in everything he does. Sanzo's love for Goku, although he likes to hide it, is just as strong. Sanzo's love shows strongly in moments such as when he gets injured protecting Goku from Rikudo and when he goes after Ukoku when Goku is almost killed.

Genjo Sanzo and Son Goku would not be able to live without each other. They were both "soul-less" before they met each other. If they had not met, or if they were permanently torn apart, I believe they would not be able to live on. Before the two met, Sanzo was very close to ending his own life, and Goku's soul was gone as well. Even though he wasn't able to physically die inside of that cage, his soul would've been completely dead. I could write a whole other essay about "the voice" and how it was destiny that they met, but that would be much too long. I'd end up discussing all of Gaiden. Anyway, I love these two. This was meant to be a short description of the quick doodle I drew, and it turned into a rant on my favorite pairing. I had to write out my feelings for these two eventually.
