Here's something different from me .I wanted to represent evil in one of it's forms. to show that evil can be almost anything ,I drew evil in form of an innocent looking girl ,the candles represents life and death ,the ones that are illuminated means "alive" and the ones that are out represents " death ".Evil is present at all times, even after death .The halo ish light from behind the girl's head reinforce the idea of innocence ,as if she's an angel .there's some other symbols in this picture but I'm sure you guys can figure them out : )
My art history class paid off xD we learned a lot of symbolism ,it's very interesting .

I absolutely LOVE the scythe. it instantly makes me think of a reaper, and i can't tell you enough how much i love how you didn't go very skeletal at all with that idea. I like the ones that look like a normal human that still have something that screams "inhuman" about them. those kinds of reapers are hard to find, especially as well done as you did here.
SHORT VERSION: I love how you incorporated the reaper element and all the Life and Death symbolism that comes with it without simply drawing a skeleton in a black cloak. (and the scythe. I REEEAAALLY love that scythe)

Anything can be evil, from darkest abomination to the sweetest angel, with a motive and will anything is possible. Your portrait of Reaper is different from most, the statuesque appearance, with face fully visible isn't common. The addition of the three sixes on his head is triangular formation does suggest the twisted nature effectively. The use of candles as analogies from life is perfect, as all life will eventually be extinguished, candles are perfect.
The girl herself looks innocent, but from expression along it is obvious something is wrong, more corrupt, darker, despite the halo and dress making her sweet. Very well done, keep up the great work.

I really like this image. And I percive profound elements of symoblism within the work. This is what I think:
First, the pool of blood reinforces the concept of sin and loss of innocence.
Also the red ribbon that links the girl to the sythe? I presume, is what conveys her link with the devil himself.
There is also an odd symbol of the forehead of the symbol that I am not familiar with, maybe it has something to do with evil?
And her nails, are wickedly long and sharp, as if to inflict harm.
The colour of her dress is white, so I am presuming that is meant to be a symbol of purity, however the blood represents the loss of innocence as I mentioned before.
She is also smiling slightly, and so is the devil I see. Maybe they're both mentally linked somehow, with the aura around both of their heads I presume this is another symbolic gesture?
I really like this. Very unique. And I love the concept of symbolism within art
