Our theme for this year is 【Boys x Flowers 】.
DAY 12 : ADONIS

Adonis takes its name from Adonis, a mythological character of particular beauty.
In Greek mythology Adonis had been pierced by a wild boar from Ares, jealous of Aphrodite's interest for him. In the Latina variant, to protect him from Mars he was concealed by Prosperina, goddess of hell, who fell in love with him. The goddess contended him and Zeus decided one day that young Adonis would have lived between the living and the dead.
From the drops of blood flowing from Adonis' wound the plant was born and the species with the red petals is called Adonis' Flower because of its color that draws the drops of blood.
In the language of flowers, it symbolizes "gentle memories" or "a painful memory" and represents a way to make it clear to the beloved person that always takes it into his heart, regardless of his current relationships.
