Description
Been suuuuper hyped with all the trailers and news this week from E3. Got a little inspiration from the new trailer from the TV show for this comic. Redrew the original scene for the first panel and then all the other "sidekicks" teasing Sonic. I need to invest in a WiiU for November. There are looots of games to play in my future

A very funny and cool panel! I love all the characters in this, especially Sticks coming in the end! All of their poses and expressions are totally fantastic!
The outlines, the colouring, the shadings and highlights, and the background are all really spectac!

Thank you! I used a reference for it, but due to Sonic not being human it required a fair bit of tweaking in order to get it to work

Wow... None of these guys know that they're supposed to be SONIC's sidekick, especially Tails, I mean for goodness sakes, he wanted to be Sonic's sidekick. Still this was pretty hilarious! Nice job!

If the writers can get the playful banter between Sonic and Knuckles down like how they were known for acting in the comics before it all went to shit, I think I might be able to enjoy the slow

Don't let the comic give you the wrong idea.Β He's somewhat smarter in the video game and way more well-written and intelligent in the TV show (though that might not say much).Β Additionally, he's a lot nicer than his main universe counterpart in all adaptations.Β One could argue that he's the most compassionate person on the team.

Not sure about that. In the very first scene of the videogame, it took him about 5 seconds and 6 fingers to figure out the difference between his left and right. I'm sorry but after reading how well developed Knuckles' character could become from the Archie comics, and then seeing something like that and a few other examples I saw in the games, I won't be giving the show a single chance. Its not worth it to reduce all the characters other than Amy (Who got a nice personality bonus to her overall character) to worthless stereotypes. As a story-buff, that bothers me

Trust me, all of the characters are much more three-dimensional in the show.Β Despite all of the of-the-wall comments he makes throughout the game, he has many intelligent moments.Β In Rise of Lyric, he is shown to be very genre savvy on several occasions and was able to drive a vehicle with a ton of complex controls.Β In the show, he has a fairly advanced vocal vocabulary, is remarkably witty and charismatic, and is an excellent piano player.Β Therefore, I don't think Knuckles' intelligence is low just...oddly selective.Β Which is often hilarious.Β This is a comedy show, so the writers needed a character who would be more willing to get in on the silliness.
As for why they chose this characterization, the folks at SEGA said that they wanted the characters to be written so that no one was superior or inferior in personality.Β I've seen current episodes and glimpses of future episodes that do a good job of illustrating this.Β The characters main weaknesses are portrayed in a subtle way that doesn't seem forced: Sonic's egotism and over-protectiveness of Tails, Knuckles' man-childishness and his self-consciousness of it, Tails' occasional self-esteem issues and fear of thunder and lightning, Amy's tendency to jump to conclusions and poor judgement of character, and Stick's fear of civilization and general absence from reality.Β Yet they all find ways to deal with this.Β So don't worry about the characters being reduced to stereotypes.
