Description Puddleworms are the most successful trilateral animals on Tregama. There are about 50 species, though they are all very similar. They can dry up completely for long periods of time, as long as they are not damaged. All other trilateral animals live only in the Eastern Lakes, but the puddleworms were able to spread to other areas because of their ability to dry up along with their quick reproductive cycle. All species are under 2 mm long, and are usually about 0.5 mm. Their gills cover about half of their body, which lets them survive in very low-oxygen environments. They swim using 6 bands of cilia, which also bring food towards the mouth. The puddleworm uses sensory bristles to "see" where it is going, with 9 bristles at the front. Its only other sensory organs are 6 eyespots, which can only tell light from dark. The mouth is at the back of the puddleworm, which has 3 tentacles around it that are covered in mucus to trap food particles.

Thanks!
They're not holes, they're eyespots.
